After a long winter, it's finally time: the trees are blossoming, the sun is shining and temperatures are rising - spring is just around the corner! And with it comes the time of year when the cozy sofa is traded in for a trip to the countryside and a coffee in the sun. So here are some tips and favorite places from the CONSCHES team:
ZOE's Favorites:
I have a great recommendation for you: Café Cache (formerly Café Z) in the 15th district. It's a cozy spot where you can enjoy the spring sun with a good cappuccino and tasty French-inspired pastries. They also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the week.
For a nice outing, you might want to try one of the city's hiking trails to get out into nature for a bit. If you're near City Hiking Trail 5 in Stammersdorf, consider stopping by one of the local Heurigen for a relaxed experience. Personally, I enjoy taking one of the paths on Wilhelminenberg and having a picnic in front of Schloss Wilhelminenberg. It's a simple but enjoyable way to spend time outdoors.
MONA's Favorites:
As soon as the weather starts to warm up, you'll often find me spending my weekends at the bustling Vienna Naschmarkt. It's a vibrant scene with one restaurant after another, offering a wide range of delicious foods.
As much as I enjoy the excitement of the market, I also love escaping the hustle and bustle of the city center for some peace and quiet in nature. That's why I frequently head to the tranquil Pötzleinsdorfer Castle Park, nestled in Vienna's 18th district. Here, surrounded by lush greenery and historic sculptures, you can take a leisurely stroll, and if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a deer or two.
A perfect way to round off the experience is with a schnitzel or a traditional dessert at the 'Wirtshaus Steirerstöckl'.

JANA's Favorites:
I'd suggest checking out "Brösl" – a traditional Austrian tavern with a modern twist, nestled in the heart of the Stuwerviertel, in the 2nd district. At Brösl, you'll find a cozy tavern atmosphere, delicious seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients with a focus on organic produce. They serve all dishes family-style, placed in the center of the table for sharing and mixing, making it a fantastic spot for a lovely evening with friends.
As an outdoor suggestion, why not take a stroll through the 'Lainzer Tiergarten' to the "Wiener Blick" viewpoint? From there, you'll be treated to a breathtaking view of Vienna, perfect for a picnic on one of the many designated areas. And to top it off, make sure to pass by the stunning Hermesvilla – it's an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and animal lovers alike!
