To honor this special day, I have the pleasure to write an article about motherhood.
Before I share my experiences, I would like to note, that today's holiday is about mothers in the classic sense, but feel free to make it a day to celebrate all other forms as well - dog moms, cat moms, or soon-to-be moms, or even women who would really like to be mothers. This day should be dedicated to all these ladies!
When my son was born last year, I had no idea about all the things that would await me in the months to come. A rollercoaster of emotions, a completely new role, an incomprehensible love, an immense responsibility - the biggest adventure of my life!
My son is learning something new every day, suddenly he can sit, then he can stand up, and for weeks he's been babbling away. But the one who has learned the most is me. My biggest learning is certainly that there is no right or wrong.
As in all other situations in life, the motto here is "you do you".
There are infinite ways to be a mom and that's a good thing. And each of them is doing an incredible job every day! It is probably no coincidence that MOM read upside down makes the word WOW!
So this day is dedicated to all these everyday heroines:
"Here's to strong women: May we know them. May we be them.
May we raise them - or raise boys, who will fall in love with them."
Yours,
Mona
